MORRISTOWN — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Carter County, Elizabethton, Mountain City, Johnson County, Erwin, Unicoi County, and parts of southwest Virginia.
The advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday, with snow accumulations expected between 1 and 3 inches. Isolated higher elevations, including the highest peaks and ridgetops, could see totals of 3 to 6 inches. Wind gusts may reach up to 40 mph.
Residents are urged to plan for slippery road conditions, which could impact commutes Thursday evening and Friday morning. Additionally, gusty winds may bring down tree branches, adding to the potential hazards.
Travelers are encouraged to exercise caution, allow extra time for commutes, and stay updated on the latest weather conditions.
