Kyle McQueen, 78, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Kyle was born in Elizabethton to the late Harry and Ollie (Caudill) McQueen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gail (Stevens) Russell McQueen; a sister, Ruthie Vaughn; a brother-in-law, Ray Vaughn; and a great-nephew, Matthew Wills.
Kyle retired from TriState Container and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
Those left to cherish Kyle’s memory include two sisters, Shirley Rambo and Mary (Merrill) Davis, both of Elizabethton; a brother, Sam (Helen) McQueen of Poplar, N.C.; and his nieces and nephews, Patty Rambo, Holly Rambo Carter, Kimber Russell Vaughn, Cameron McQueen, Lisa McQueen Walston and Samantha McQueen. Several great-nieces and great-nephews as well as one great-great-nephew also survive.
A graveside service to celebrate Kyle’s life will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, November 21, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Roger Crigger officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends between the hours of 1 and 2 p.m. Thursday at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton prior to the graveside service.
