The Carter County Election Commission will meet at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, in the conference room of the commission offices, 116 Holston Ave., Elizabethton, to certify the results of the Nov. 5 general election.

Those with disabilities who wish to participate in these proceedings should contact the Election Commission to discuss any auxiliary aid or service needed to facilitate their participation. Such initial contact may be in person, by writing, by telephone, or otherwise, to allow time for the Election Commission to determine how it may reasonably provide aid or service.

State law mandates that county election commissions determine and certify the election results. Notices of election are to be mailed to the elected candidates, indicating the term to be served. The law mandates that the certification be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the city.
