The Elizabethton Cyclones traveled a familiar path Friday evening as they sought to advance in the 2024 Class 4-A BlueCross Football Championship second-round play, visiting the Anderson County Mavericks.
After taking their first lead of the game at 7-0 on a CJ Mathes touchdown run, the Mavericks answered with authority, surging to a 54-14 victory that ended the Cyclones’ season.
