The Elizabethton Cyclones opened the 2024 Class 4-A BlueCross Bowl Football Championships at Citizens Bank Stadium on Friday night, aiming to cap off their Homecoming ’24 week with a win to advance to the second round next Friday.

By the end of the game, the queen and her court had more nails left on their fingers than most fans as the Cyclones finally found their offensive rhythm after trailing 13-0 to the Falcons from Knoxville, securing a 14-13 nail-biter victory.

The win sets up a road trip to Clinton to face Anderson County next week.

Justius Wallin scored both of the Cyclones’ touchdowns, with the difference coming on the foot of Will Bowers, who converted both of his point-after attempts to secure the final score.
