Ezzy Barr, a 14-year-old freshman from Elizabethton High School, will head back to the Netherlands in January to play for a second year for Team USA in The Cup 2025, one of the most prestigious softball tournaments in the world.
Barr was picked last season as one of the youngest players to travel and take part in this event and will return this season as a pitcher for Team USA (Chaos).
During this tournament, Barr will play against 16 or more top teams in the country along with some of the best Olympic softball athletes to ever take the field.
Barr puts a lot of time into training and preparing for this tournament as well as getting ready for Elizabethton High’s upcoming season. Not only does she get to play international softball, but she is part of the All-American team and has played in Reno, Nev.; Houston, Texas; and South Carolina, enjoying college showcase events with her travel team, Velocity, and Coach Jeff Dean.
Barr said none of this would be possible without the help and guidance from God and the great coaches who have taken the time to show her and teach her the sport she loves, especially pitching coach James Laughren, hitting coach Danielle Jason, and EHS coach Ken Hardin.
