Elizabethton Police Department Arrests

The Elizabethton Police Department has reported the following arrests:
- Clinton Duane Barrett was arrested on Nov. 4 after Officer James Deese responded to a report of suspicious persons on West G St. Barrett was found to have two active failure-to-appear warrants from Carter County, one from Juvenile Court and one from General Sessions Court. He was taken into custody and transported to the Carter County Jail without incident.
- Christopher Ray Austin was taken into custody on Nov. 2 after Officer Justin Pearce responded to a call on Bluefield Ave. Austin, who had been previously banned from the Lynnwood/Lynnridge area, was found intoxicated and refusing to leave the caller’s apartment. He was charged with public intoxication and criminal trespassing. Austin’s court date is set for Nov. 18 at 9 a.m. in Carter County General Sessions Court.
- Dakota Edward Holtsclaw was arrested on Nov. 2 following a report of a suspicious person on Elm St. Officer Mitchell Tolley located Holtsclaw at a nearby business and determined he was intoxicated. Holtsclaw, who admitted to hiding in bushes, was charged with public intoxication and trespassed from the property. He will appear in court on Nov. 18 at 9 a.m. in Carter County General Sessions Court.
- Joey Pearce was cited for shoplifting on Nov. 2 after allegedly stealing $48.96 worth of items from Walmart. Officer James Deese located Pearce near Lowe’s and returned him to Walmart, where he was issued a citation. Pearce’s court date is scheduled for Nov. 20 at 9 a.m. in General Sessions Court.
