Unicoi man arrested on multiple charges, including felony drug possession

JOHNSON CITY — On Nov. 1, Johnson City Police Department officers arrested Benjamin Blevins, 45, of Unicoi, on charges including misdemeanor shoplifting, misdemeanor vandalism, misdemeanor evading arrest, and felony methamphetamine possession.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., JCPD officers responded to a shoplifting call at 2915 W. Market St. Upon making contact with Blevins, he attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by officers. A search revealed merchandise that Blevins had not purchased, as well as a felony amount of methamphetamine in his possession.
Blevins was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
