Virginia Moore, 81, of Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Whitehead and Ida Louise Moore Whitehead and was born on October 7, 1943. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Moore Jr., in 2016, and a brother, Cecil A. Whitehead.  

Virginia was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and loved to read her Bible.

Those left to cherish her many memories include two sisters, Norma Tolley (Steve) of Hampton and Doris Morgan of Elizabethton; one brother, Allen Whitehead (Sharon) of Watauga; and several nephews, great-nephews and a niece.

The committal and entombment service for Virginia Moore will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, November 1, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Dr. Dean Presnell officiating. Music will also be under the direction of Dr. Dean Presnell. Everyone will meet at the cemetery mausoleum at 10:50 a.m. Friday.
