Cyclist dies from injuries sustained in Johnson City crash

JOHNSON CITY – A cyclist involved in a traffic crash on Oct. 12 has died from injuries sustained in the accident, according to the Johnson City Police Department.
Officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a bicycle at the intersection of West Maple and Buffalo streets shortly after 9:45 p.m. The cyclist, identified as Halie Rex, 26, of Johnson City, was transported to a local hospital following the incident.
Rex passed away on Oct. 17 due to the injuries sustained in the crash.
No charges have been filed at this time as the Johnson City Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Unit continues its investigation.
