While the focus of flood relief from Hurricane Helene has been centered on Carter County, the devastation has extended far beyond the area, affecting regions across Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Recognizing the need for assistance in areas such as Newport, Chimney Rock, and Asheville, N.C., as well as Damascus, Va., the Student Government Association at Elizabethton High School decided to organize a fundraiser to benefit all impacted regions.

The SGA is taking orders until Oct. 31 for a T-shirt designed by Cooper Chinault, featuring a mountain backdrop with “Appalachian Strong” on the front and a list of affected areas on the back.

Shirts are $20 each, with 100% of the proceeds going to regional disaster relief efforts.

To raise awareness for the fundraiser, students also painted the rock near Citizens Bank Stadium with the logo from the shirt.
