An Elizabethton man faces a felony charge after an internet tip led to the discovery of child sex abuse material.
Investigators with the Carter County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brandon Lee Napier, 30, of 149 Lover’s Lane, on Thursday and charged him with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
The charge against Napier is the result of an investigation that began when CCSO Inv. Preston White received two cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding child sex abuse material being uploaded to a social media platform. It was reported by the social media platform that 28 videos and 16 photos were uploaded to the platform that depicted prepubescent female children engaging in sexual acts.
Investigators were able to track the IP address used to post the videos and photos and identified Napier as the suspect.
The investigation is ongoing at this time, and additional charges are pending.
Napier is currently being held at the Carter County Detention Center under a $75,000 bond on this charge.
