Due to recent flooding, the Carter County Election Commission has announced changes to two voting precincts for the upcoming November general elections, according to Tracy Harris, Carter County Administrator of Elections.

The Hampton High School voting precinct will be relocated to a location within Hampton Elementary School. While a voting precinct is already established at the elementary school, the high school voters will use a different location in the building for the upcoming election.

Elk Mills voters, meanwhile, will cast their ballots at Little Milligan Elementary School in November.

Cloudland High School voters will remain unaffected by the changes, as voting will continue at that precinct.

Early voting is set to begin on Oct. 16 and will run through Oct. 31 at the Carter County Election Office, located at 116 Holston Avenue in Elizabethton.

Early voting hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
