JOHNSON CITY – On Sept. 30, officers with the Johnson City Police Department arrested Tyler Hutchinson, 30, of Johnson City, and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault (domestic) and two counts of contempt of court.
Shortly after 1 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Bellington Drive following a report of a domestic assault. The victims reported that an argument with Hutchinson had escalated into a physical altercation. Both victims had active orders of protection against him.
Hutchinson fled the scene in his vehicle. Later that morning, Bluff City Police and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check on a man found passed out in a vehicle. Authorities identified the man as Hutchinson and took him into custody.
Hutchinson was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he awaits further legal proceedings.
