Elizabethton City Schools will remain closed through Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, as Elizabethton High School (EHS) continues to serve as a command center for ongoing flood relief efforts. A decision regarding the remainder of the week will be communicated on Wednesday.

All 12-month employees and any other staff contacted by a supervisor are expected to report to work tomorrow. Additional information about work schedules for all staff will be shared on Monday.

Athletics and extracurricular activities may resume this week if deemed practical, provided they do not interfere with campus operations or the school’s ability to support search and rescue efforts. Coaches and sponsors will communicate with students about any schedule changes or cancellations. Parents and students are encouraged to stay updated via social media and local news outlets.
