Patty Jo Wolfe, 70, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Ballad Hospice House in Bristol. Born June 4, 1954, Patty was the only daughter born to the late John and Lilly Mae Massengill Wampler.

Patty was a bright soul who loved all people. Unashamedly, Patty lived to serve the Lord Jesus with her whole heart. After having her life changed by him, she longed to help others experience the same blessing! She was a member of Bunker Hill Christian Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher, a treasurer and a member of the Ladies Circle.

Patty retired from Citizens Bank after working there for over 40 years. Patty primarily worked as a bank teller and she loved her work, because it put her in proximity to so many people – she loved her customers dearly.

In her younger days, she loved playing softball. Patty also enjoyed painting as well as crafting, fishing, caring for animals, bird watching and especially working in her flower garden. Most of all she loved the Lord and her family and spending time with both was her greatest joy.

Those left to cherish Patty’s memory include her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Wayne Wolfe of the home; her beloved son and his wife, Evan and Ashley Wolfe of Piney Flats, Tenn., and their children, the light of Patty’s life, Deacon Robert Wolfe and Felicity Grace Wolfe.

A celebration of Patty’s life will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday, September 22, at Bunker Hill Christian Church in Bluff City with Mr. Grant Foster, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service.

Patty will be laid to rest at Happy Valley Memorial Park at 1 p.m. Monday, September 23. Active pallbearers will be Terry Jones, Mike Rasnick, Terry Malone, Joe Fleenor, Tory Rumley and Jonathon Feathers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 12:15 p.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Patty to Bunter Hill Christian Church, 490 Bunker Hill Road, Bluff City, TN 37618 or to the Carter County Animal Shelter, 135 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
