New foot and ankle surgeon comes to Elizabethton and Johnson City

Samuel Straus, D.P.M., an expertly trained podiatrist, has joined the team of specialists at Appalachian Orthopedics. Dr. Straus is now available to see patients at the practice’s Elizabethton office, located at 1500 West Elk Ave., as well as at their Johnson City office, located at 3 Professional Park Drive, Suite 21. Using his extensive training, Dr. Straus specializes in evaluating, diagnosing and treating orthopedic injuries and conditions of the foot and ankle. His expertise covers a wide array of advanced nonsurgical and surgical procedures and specializes in the following: Achilles tendon repair, ankle replacement, bunions, diabetic foot care, fracture repair, hammertoe, ingrown toenails, injections, ligament repair and Plantar fasciitis.

Dr. Straus received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke.
