JCPD seeks information on large altercation in Downtown Johnson City

JOHNSON CITY — The Johnson City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is seeking information to identify individuals involved in a large altercation that took place earlier this month.
On Sept. 1 at 12:11 a.m., JCPD officers responded to reports of a fight involving multiple people in the 200 block of East Main St. Officers arrived at the scene by 12:14 a.m. but found no active fights in progress.
Following a consultation with the Office of the District Attorney General, the JCPD launched an investigation into the incident that week. While some victims have come forward, the department is urging others to do the same.
Investigators are working to identify the individuals involved through witness interviews and photos and videos of the altercation that have been posted on social media.
