he City of Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department is excited to host Covered Bridge Days this weekend, from Friday, Sept. 20, through Sunday, Sept. 22. The weekend-long event will feature a variety of live music, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, and family-friendly activities.
Friday, Sept. 20 — The festival kicks off with a performance by bluegrass artist Daniel Grindstaff. Known for his banjo skills, Grindstaff has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and collaborated with notable artists like Dolly Parton. Skaggs, a multiple Grammy Award winner and inductee of the Country Music Hall of Fame, will bring his signature blend of bluegrass and country to the festival. His performance is expected to be a highlight of the weekend. A fireworks finale will follow his set.
Sunday, Sept. 22 — Gospel and country artist Jason Crabb will close the festival on Sunday. The Grammy-winning singer, known for his inspirational songs like “Through the Fire,” will bring his powerful voice to the stage. Crabb’s performance will be followed by the Elizabethton Youth Business Fair, where young entrepreneurs, ages 7-18, will sell their goods to the public.
The festival will also include a Touch-A-Truck event on Friday, arts and crafts vendors, local food trucks, and family-friendly activities such as free inflatables, magic shows, foam parties, and pay-to-play attractions throughout the weekend.
