Johnson City Police arrest suspect in South Belmont Street shooting

JOHNSON CITY — Officers with the Johnson City Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 300 block of South Belmont Street on Sept. 12, shortly after 7 p.m.

Before officers arrived, the suspect fled the scene, and the victim was transported to a local hospital by an acquaintance. The victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the leg.

JCPD investigators identified the suspect as Raheem Marshall, 41, of Kingsport. Marshall was arrested early Friday morning at a residence in Johnson City. He has been charged with aggravated assault, felony possession of a firearm, and felony reckless endangerment.
