To the Editor:

Pray for our candidates, current political leaders and for peaceful and fair elections during this challenging and stressful election season. Thankfully Tennessee is ranked by Heritage.org as the best state in America for election integrity. We didn’t see fairness in the ABC debate as ABC only fact checked Trump and disagreed with Trump, so Trump in effect debated three people.

Wal-Mart and other businesses are telling their employees to expect and report riots because of the election. Because of increased chances of riots and a growing number of  gangs because of the open border, it would be wise for Tennessee to increase its number of police and riot training. It would be best to vote early in person if possible. The Presidential election is Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024. Oct. 7 is the last day to register for the Nov. 5 election. Early voting is Oct. 16-31.

According to the Bible in Romans 13 the purpose of government is the restraint of evil, therefore, Christians should never vote for candidates who want to defund police like Harris. Christians shouldn’t vote for those who want to increase transgenderism and mutate children against their parents wishes like Harris. Christians shouldn’t vote for those like Harris that raised money to free violent rioters in 2020 who went on to do more violence. Christians shouldn’t vote for Walz who failed as governor to call out the National Guard when needed to stop the riots.

Demonic people used riots to try to silence Paul in the Bible. The Bible in Deuteronomy 30 says, “Choose life,” therefore Christians should never vote for candidates supporting abortion all nine months and taxpayer funding for abortion like Harris. One theologian said all the candidates are flawed and it’s morally right to vote for a flawed candidate if you know they will do more good than his opponent. He said it’s morally right to speak out and vote against evil such as abortion. It was morally right for Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer to speak out against Hitler killing Jews.  Bonhoeffer said, “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act!” I would add not to vote is to vote!
Christians must pray that above all we honor our Savior and soon coming King Jesus in every area of our lives including the voting booth. Most of all we show love by telling people about Jesus. If you love people you want the best for them which is Jesus! Jesus is sovereign over all things, which means He has a perspective His people should share about everything. We should pray that we always, as well as our family, our candidates, church and political leaders do everything for the glory of God. That’s the defining issue or great divide in life because our chief purpose in life is to glorify and worship Jesus and enjoy Him now and forever!
