Melinda Campbell Vance Pierce, 66, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born March 14, 1958 in Carter County to the late Jim and Learly Byrd Campbell.

Melinda graduated from Happy Valley High School. She was employed in the Housekeeping Department of East Tennessee State University. She loved her animals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Margaret Nave, Mary Bowman, Maxine Carver, Matilda Sue Stroupe and Marlene Ferguson, and two brothers, Joe and Jerry Campbell.

Survivors include her husband, Jeff; one daughter, Amber Vance, Sarasota, Fla.; one granddaughter, Zoe Vance, Sarasota, Fla.; her step-daughter, Kasie Elaine Pierce, Tampa, Fla.; and two brothers,  James Harold (Zelma) Campbell, Elizabethton, and Johnny (Marie) Campbell, Piney Flats. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dean Presnell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website, www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
