The Carter County Sheriff’s Office has reported that Saila Decker, the 15-year-old juvenile who was reported missing on Sept. 2, has been found safe and unharmed.
Deputies initially responded to a home in Roan Mountain after a 911 caller reported that her granddaughter, Saila Decker, had gone missing. The grandmother stated that she last saw Saila the previous night, though they had been in phone communication between that time and 2 p.m. on Sept. 2. Saila had reportedly been in the company of another juvenile, and when officers spoke to Saila’s friend, the juvenile stated that their last communication with Saila was around 4 p.m. that day.
Saila Decker, who has brown hair and brown eyes, is 5 feet tall and weighs approximately 135 pounds. She was last seen in the Roan Mountain area of Carter County.
The Carter County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance and concern during the search.
