Imogene Clamon Allen, 95, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Hillview Health Center in Elizabethton. Imogene was born in Elizabethton on July 8, 1929, to the late William Clamon and Margaret Arney Claman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Wayne Clamon, and sister, Muriel Clamon.
Imogene was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the D.O.W. Sunday School Class. She was a graduate of Happy Valley High School.
Imogene worked in retail for 21 years at ETW&C Transportation Company.
Those left to remember Imogene include her husband of 75 years, Robert “Josh” Allen of Elizabethton; brothers-in-law, Tom Allen (Diane) of Greenwood, S.C., and James Allen of Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Imogene Allen was conducted on Monday, September 2, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Newman and Rev. Matt Swain officiating. Music was under the direction of Kim Pless and Carol Buchner. The family received friends in the funeral home chapel between the hours of 5 and 6 p.m. Monday, prior to the service.
The graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery no later than 1:15 p.m., prior to the service.
