Amanda Jennings, an LPN at Life Care Center of Elizabethton, recently received the Tennessee Health Care Association’s (THCA) 2024 Nurse of the Year Award. The award recognizes a nurse working full time in a THCA member nursing home who demonstrates outstanding compassion, leadership, innovation, achievement and clinical excellence while providing high-quality, resident-centered care.
Jennings has been with Life Care Center of Elizabethton for more than 10 years. She started as a floor nurse and was promoted multiple times before her current role in marketing and admissions. She also serves as a Life Care regional trainer for marketing and admission staff.
Jennings accepted the award Aug. 22 during THCA’s Convention & Trade Show in Nashville, where individuals, groups and facilities were celebrated for their outstanding accomplishments in long-term care. Awards are presented annually in a variety of categories.
“Our awards honor the best of the best in Tennessee’s long-term care profession,” THCA Executive Director Jesse Samples said. “The winners set a wonderful example for others to follow, and we’re excited to recognize such amazing commitment, skill and compassion.”
THCA is a nonprofit organization whose members include long-term care facilities located throughout the state.
