Chad Lewis, Carter County Trustee, announced this week that the Trustee’s office has switched credit/debit card processing companies for payments made in the office, online, and by phone.

“We receive many payments by phone and online. The best news is that I have negotiated a lower processing fee (2.5 percent) and also a lower check fee ($1) as well. This will be a big savings to those who take advantage of paying without coming into the office,” Lewis said.

The office will be going “live” with the new processing system on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Lewis also noted that the Trustee’s office will be closed Monday, Sept. 2, for Labor Day.
