The Lady Cyclones' Vella Nave (4) dribbles the ball downfield as Tennessee High’s Sophia Streetman (9) defends early in the second half at the Stone Castle on Tuesday evening.
BRISTOL – The Elizabethton Lady Cyclones scored early in the girls’ soccer match at Stone Castle in Bristol, but the lead was brief. Tennessee High’s Aryanna Patterson scored four goals, and the Lady Vikings took a 10-1 win on Tuesday evening.
Vella Nave gave the Cyclones (2-2 overall, 0-1 conference) an early 1-0 lead, but Patterson scored the equalizer shortly thereafter. The Vikings’ attack pressed the Cyclones into numerous mistakes, and EHS could never mount a consistent attack.
Kadyn Kemmerer scored the next two goals for Tennessee High, and the Vikings took a 4-1 lead into the break, with Patterson scoring with under a minute left in the first half. The second half saw Patterson score in the 46th minute, and Lana Lavinder got on the score sheet in the 47th minute for a 6-1 Vikings advantage.
EHS managed just two shots on goal in the second half as Tennessee High’s swarming attack stifled the Cyclones.
Rosalyn Cisneros scored in the 58th minute for THS, and Lavinder scored again in the 62nd minute. Aubrey Harmon scored in the 67th minute, and Patterson finished off the game with a goal a little over two minutes remaining.
