The Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy (SAHC) is inviting volunteers to join a guided outing and cleanup event at the Blue Hole Falls recreation area in Cherokee National Forest on Thursday, Aug. 29. The event will begin at 10 a.m.

“We invite volunteers to come be a part of making Blue Hole Falls shine brighter than ever,” said Justin Tucker, SAHC’s outreach program manager. “Join us for a late summer splashdown and trash clean-up to help keep this popular natural gem pristine. After we tidy up, participants can stick around for a refreshing swim and enjoy the beauty of the falls. Get ready to meet fellow nature lovers, contribute to environmental conservation, and have some fun in the process.”

Trash bags and gloves will be provided for the cleanup. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their enthusiasm, swimsuit, and a lunch. Those interested in participating can sign up at Appalachian.org – appalachian.org/event/2024-splash-trash-clean-up-at-blue-hole.
