Freddy’s love for baseball extends beyond just collecting cards. He is the son of Elmer Bowling, the former general manager of the Elizabethton Star, who was also a dedicated Little League and Babe Ruth coach. Growing up in such an environment, Freddy developed a deep appreciation for the sport, which has remained a central part of his life.

Freddy himself worked at the Elizabethton Star, following in his father’s footsteps and contributing to the local community through his work. However, it’s his passion for baseball cards that truly sets him apart. The Eagle Center staff have grown fond of Freddy, with his daily visits becoming a cherished part of their routine.

Freddy’s two brothers, Dale and Jackie, have always supported his hobby, often joining him in reminiscing about their father’s legacy in Elizabethton. This year, the store decided to honor Freddy’s loyalty and enthusiasm by awarding him the title of Favorite Customer.

In a small ceremony, Freddy was presented with two basketballs and a special edition autograph plaque to commemorate the occasion. “Freddy is more than just a customer; he’s a part of our family,” said store owner Tammy Troutman. “His love for baseball and his kindness to everyone he meets make him truly deserving of this award.”

Freddy was thrilled to receive the recognition, expressing his gratitude with a smile and a promise to continue his daily visits. For Freddy, it’s not just about the cards—it’s about the joy of being part of a community that shares his passion.
