Richard M. Cain, 85, Kingsport, formerly of Elizabethton, went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the residence of his daughter. He was born December 20, 1938 in Bloomsburg, Pa., to the late Howard Reber and Pruella Hippenstiel Cain.
Richard served in the United States Army. He had lived in Elizabethton for the past 20 years. He had served as a Minister for 35 years. He had several hobbies including, guns, knives, watches, and trains. He loved people and loved the outdoors.
Mr. Cain was a member of Southside Christian Church. He was also a member of the NRA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Donna Lee Cain, who passed away October 19, 2023.
Survivors include his daughters, Ami Bailey and husband Greg, Kingsport, Mindi Cain, Dallas, Texas, and Sandi Wise and husband Christopher, Placerville, Calif.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Rodney Cain and wife Bonnie, Marion, N.Y., and Timothy Reber Cain and wife Margaret, Forty Fort, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 22, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) with Ken Phillips officiating. Military Honors will be provided. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home Wednesday from noon 1 until 5 p.m. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
