ET Ballet Academy announces auditions for ‘The Nutcracker’

East Tennessee Ballet Academy has announced audition placements for the annual production of “The Nutcracker.” Local children are encouraged to be a part of the wonderful holiday tradition as no previous dance experience is necessary to participate.
Placement will be held at the ET Ballet Academy studies, 312 E. Elk Ave., Elizabethton, on Saturday, Aug. 24. The schedule is as follows: five to six year olds from 10 to 10:30 a.m.; seven to nine year olds from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.; and 10 to 11 year olds from 11:15 to 12 noon.
Dancers 12 years and older should contact ETBA to schedule an audition. There is a $125 production fee, which includes a Nutcracker shirt.
ETBA’s annual production of “The Nutcracker” will be held December 20 at 7 p.m. and December 21 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Gregory Center, University.
East Tennessee Ballet Academy, under the direction of Cynthia Bernshausen, offers quality instruction for students three years to adult. Pre-school ballet, tap & rhythm, classical ballet, pointe, variations, contemporary, tap and jazz classes are offered.
