Danny Miller passed away at his home surrounded by those he loved on August 8, 2024 following a lengthy illness. He was a deacon at Evergreen Baptist Church in Roan Mountain, Tenn., a telephone repairman by trade, and a farmer by heart. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Ina Miller, and a brother-in-law, Ed Deloach. 

Left to cherish Danny’s memory are his wife of 45 years, Joanna Ledford Miller; his son, Drew Miller and wife Ashley; and a daughter, Danielle. He was a “Pa” to six grandchildren, Evie Miller, Isaiah Miller, Abel Gibbs, Cora Gibbs, Madison Gibbs and Mattea Jennings Church. He is survived by a sister, Linda Hopson and husband Walt; sister, Kathy Deloach; brother, Roger Miller and wife Iris; brother-in-law, Johnny Ledford and wife Kathy; special aunts and uncles, Dorothy and Pat Hopson and Walter and Clara Heaton; and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will take place at the Perry Cemetery on Perkins Hollow Road in Roan Mountain on Sunday, August 11, at 2 p.m. The service will be conducted by John Henry McCoury. Pallbearers will be Jacob Church, Neal Hopson, Israel Miller, Jordan Miller, Greg Stout, Charlee Stout, Cody Street and Cody Vance. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Green, Walter Heaton, Johnny Ledford, Junior Taylor, and his lifelong friends from the telephone company. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home-Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, at 1:30 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.
