Carter County Sheriff’s Office arrests

The following arrests have been reported by the Carter County Sheriff’s Office: 

August 2: Deputy Dalton McCloud responded to a suspicious person call on Piney Grove Road. Upon arrival, Paige B. Silvers, barefoot and spraying a substance from a Spic and Span bottle, was found. Silvers, who gave an incorrect birth date and exhibited signs of intoxication, was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

August 3: Deputy Nicholas Gass and Deputy Bartlett responded to a burglary call on Fairview Road. Phillip Michael Miller was found asleep on the front porch and arrested for aggravated assault after his girlfriend was found with marks consistent with strangulation. A search revealed a baggie of white powder in Miller’s pocket, which he claimed was cocaine. Miller was charged with aggravated assault as domestic violence and simple possession.

August 3: Deputy Cory Locklear arrested Michael William Cann, who was walking on North Lynn Avenue and found to have two active warrants for failure to appear and violation of probation. Cann was taken into custody and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

August 3: Deputy Heath Taylor responded to a road hazard on Stillwater Circle, where a Honda Civic was blocking the roadway. The vehicle’s owner, Joni Allison Perry, was found to have an active warrant for failure to appear. Perry was arrested and her vehicle towed.

August 4: Deputy Heath Taylor responded to a suspicious person call on Massey Street. Dennis D. Maze was found in distress, claiming someone was trying to kill him. Maze, believed to be under the influence of narcotics, was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

August 4: Lt. Johnathan Blevins met with the Johnson City Police Department at Sinking Creek Baptist Church to serve a warrant on Eric Joseph Morris. Morris was arrested on active warrants for violation of probation and failure to appear.

August 7: Deputy Donovan Bemiller responded to a violation of an order of protection on Blevins Road. Amanico Gutierrez was found on the property in violation of a court order. Gutierrez was arrested and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

August 7: Deputies Cory Locklear and S. Scalf arrested Carter Thurman Campbell on Jackson Avenue. Campbell was found to have an active warrant for forgery and was transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

August 8: Deputy Cory Locklear met with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office on Highway 19E to serve a warrant on Rebecca Faye Richardson. Richardson was arrested on an active warrant for aggravated burglary and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

August 8: Deputy Thomas Hill met with the Johnson City Police Department at Sinking Creek Baptist Church and arrested Lenora Holmes on a failure to appear warrant.

August 8: Deputy Donovan Bemiller responded to a suspicious person call on Moreland Gap Road. Crystal K. Jones was found on the property with an active warrant for failure to appear. During the arrest, Jones was found in possession of suspected Xanax and another unknown pill. Jones was charged with a Schedule IV drug violation.

August 9: Deputy Heath Taylor arrested James T. Keller on Castle Drive for failure to appear. Keller was taken into custody and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
