JOHNSON CITY – On Aug. 4, shortly before 11 p.m., officers with the Johnson City Police Department arrested Herculano Sablas, 70, of Johnson City, and charged him with sexual battery.

The arrest followed an incident on Aug. 3 around 8:45 p.m. when officers responded to an apartment complex on West Watauga Avenue regarding a reported sexual assault. The investigation revealed that Sablas allegedly assaulted another resident of the building.

Sablas was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
