The 16th Annual Harmony Free Will Baptist Church’s Back-to-School Bash, held Saturday at Hampton High School, provided nearly 2,000 backpacks filled with school supplies for preschool to high school students.
With the theme of this year’s bash, “Bee Kind,” kids learned from a beekeeper while busy bees buzzed around the location. The event featured free inflatables, rides, shows, games, food, cotton candy, clothes and haircuts. Star Correspondent Tyler Scalf was on hand to bring the event to Star readers.
The health department offered school vaccinations, and Second Harvest provided food boxes for families as they left.
The yearly event is sponsored by area churches along with community volunteers, organizations, businesses, and individuals.
