A tragic single-vehicle accident on Tuesday evening claimed the life of a 15-year-old. The crash occurred around 6:38 p.m. on the 1500 block of Powder Branch Road.

The incident involved a 2023 Honda CRV driven by the 15-year-old, who was traveling east on Powder Branch Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to run off the roadway. The car struck a telephone pole and a tree before overturning and landing in a ravine. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

The 2023 Honda CRV caught fire and was fully engulfed in flames following the crash. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
