The Jr. Cyclone Football Program of the Watauga Junior Athletic League (WJAL) kicked off its season with conditioning sessions last week. Elizabethton Star reader Ciara Laws captured the excitement on both nights, bringing the action to Star readers.
WJAL features teams from Carter County and surrounding counties, creating a vibrant community of young athletes. The players and cheerleaders are diligently preparing for the season’s start, with a Jamboree scheduled for Saturday, August 10, at William B. Greene Jr. Stadium on the ETSU campus.
The coverage of WJAL is made possible through the generous sponsorship of Citizens Bank, supporting the league’s mission to foster athletic development and sportsmanship among the youth.
