Maker’s Market July 21 in Elizabethton

A Maker’s Market will be held Sunday, July 21, from 12 noon until 5 p.m at 411 E. Doe Avenue in Elizabethton.

The event is sponsored by Crossroads Crafters, Mulberry Mobile Nursery, and Downtown Elizabethton, and is an opportunity to shop directly from local artists, crafters, and makers in our community. Visitors can browse a variety of handmade treasures and carefully crafted goods.

Hampton Family Fun Days Saturday

The Hampton Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Department will host Hampton Family Fun Day today, July 13, from 6 to 11 p.m. at 410 Fourth Avenue in Hampton.

Events will include a Kids Zone, DJ Music by Jimmy Pearce, free hotdogs and food trucks will be available. The evening will be topped off with a fireworks display.

 

Rockin’ on the Doe scheduled Aug. 24

Rockin’ on the Doe featuring Lennie Dwayne Morris and On the Border, the ultimate Eagles tribute band, will be held August 24, beginning at 5 p.m.

The event will be held on E. Elk Avenue in front of the Monument as streets will be closed for the musical show, which will continue until 10 p.m. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy a great night of rock music.

 

Fun Fest Sunset Concert Series

The Fun Fest Sunset Concert Series with Crowder and Blessing Offor will be held at the J. Fred Johnson Stadium in Kingsport on July 25 at 7 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m.

General Admission tickets are $20 and can be purchased through July 18. Beginning July 19, tickets will be $25.

 

Independence on the Frontier

Independence on the Frontier will be celebrated Saturday, July 20, at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park. Activities will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m.

Be a guest in Fort Watauga as news of the Declaration of Independence finally arrives on the colonial frontier. Walk among historical characters and hear their varied reactions to the colonies’ separation from Great Britain.

The day will also feature living history demonstrations, displays, and presentations.

Admission is free.
