JOHNSON CITY — On June 29, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Aaron Thomas, 29, of Johnson City and charged him with aggravated assault.

Shortly after 1 a.m. on the above date, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at 3406 W. Market St. Upon arrival, they discovered that Thomas had allegedly strangled a woman by holding his foot on her neck and had hit her child. The woman and the child were able to get to safety.

Thomas was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
