Local youth win Pitch, Hit, and Run Competition; Advance to Regional Tournaments

In a pre-game ceremony between the Elizabethton River Riders and the Greeneville Flyboys on Saturday at Northeast Community Credit Union Ballpark, the Elizabethton/Carter County Boys and Girls Club announced the winners of their Pitch, Hit, and Run competition, with coach Ric Anderson handing out the medals. The competition was based on pitching accuracy, hitting distance, and running speed.

Divisions were broken down by appropriate age groups in baseball and softball. The division winners were:

  • 5-6 division: Colton Russell
  • 7-8 division: Baseball – Ryan Baker, Softball – Livinia Young
  • 9-10 division: Baseball – Mason Pierce, Softball – Sophia Yarberry
  • 11-12 division: Baseball – Cain Guthierrez, Softball – Eva Solomon
  • 13-14 division: Baseball – James Edmonds, Softball – Zoie Miller
