The Elizabethton High School Class of 1957 celebrated 27 years of awarding scholastic scholarships during their high school reunion in late June at The Black Olive Restaurant.

In 1997, after their 40th reunion, the class decided to use the remaining $150 to establish a scholarship fund for five deserving Elizabethton High School students. Over the years, this initiative has grown, significantly supporting students’ educational pursuits.

The scholarship recipients are chosen by the school’s guidance counselors, who select students and provide their information to the Class of 1957 for a vote. This ensures that the scholarships are awarded to students based on their academic achievements and potential.
