WEST JEFFERSON, N.C. – After two separate accounts of vandalism to newly constructed fiber-optic cable in Carter County, SkyLine/SkyBest will offer a $5000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved.

On May 22, SkyLine/SkyBest discovered the first instance of vandalism along Tiger Creek. Damages included three cut cables, all appearing to be sliced with an ax or hatchet. Additionally, on June 10, a second act of vandalism was found along Highway 321 in the Little Milligan Community where two cables were shot with a shotgun.

Damages of this nature cause financial and installation setbacks. At SkyLine, we aim to provide customers with the best broadband connection available, and we genuinely care to respond quickly and attentively to those in need of service. Writing grants and accessing funds can become a lengthy process, and it is unfortunate when we have issues that could easily have been avoided.
