Peggy Ann Arrowood of Greeneville, Tenn., passed away June 25, 2024, at the age of 90.

She was born July 16, 1933 in the Stoney Creek Community of Carter County, a daughter of the late Robert Leslie and Bernice Odessa Grindstaff Taylor.

The Arrowood family moved to Greeneville in the 1950s. She became bakery manager at the Super Dollar Grocery (predecessor to Food City) and in 1982, she became a founding partner and the namesake for Peggy Ann Bakery. Peggy’s specialty was decorating cakes for all occasions.

She was a member of First Christian Church of Greeneville.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Holly and Josh Quillen, and Stacy Arrowood; one daughter-in-law, Imogene Arrowood; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dennis Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Arrowood (1988); son, Johnny Dale Arrowood (2020); grandson, Jason William; three sisters, Geraldine Hinkle, Susie Pritchard and Pamela Wilson; and two brothers, Jay Taylor and Richard Taylor.
