Holston Habitat for Humanity announces a groundbreaking ceremony for a brand-new Habitat Home for Corrie and her daughter in Elizabethton, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their lives.

The groundbreaking will take place at 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 28, at 606 Blevins Ave. in Elizabethton. The community is invited to join the celebration as future homeowner, Corrie and her daughter, begin laying deeper roots in the community.

Having completed 180 hours of sweat equity and diligently saved for upfront closing costs, Corrie exemplifies the dedication and perseverance that are central to Holston Habitat’s mission. “This marks the 21st home built by Holston Habitat for Humanity in Elizabethton and signifies our 354th family served,” said Laura Kelly, Executive Director of Holston Habitat for Humanity. “We are thrilled to support Corrie and her daughter as they embark on this journey toward stability and self-reliance.”

Holston Habitat homes are custom-built to meet the unique needs of each family, using materials and finishes that are both durable and cost-effective to maintain. The new home at 606 Blevins Ave. will join a community of Habitat families, further nurturing a supportive and inclusive neighborhood environment.

The groundbreaking ceremony will initiate site preparation and kick off 13 weeks of construction, during which community members, contractors, and supporters will come together to build Corrie and her daughter’s future home. This site will be supervised by Construction Manager, Steve Clark, and he expresses gratitude to be working with the Elizabethton community again.

Members of the press, community partners, volunteers, and supporters of Holston Habitat for Humanity are invited to attend the ceremony and witness the beginning of this transformative project.
