Greg Abarientos named EHS volleyball head coach

Elizabethton High School is thrilled to announce Greg Abarientos as the new EHS volleyball head coach. A dedicated educator and accomplished coach, Abarientos is set to play a pivotal role in building a great team for the upcoming 2024 EHS volleyball season. His unique blend of academic and athletic experience positions him as a vital asset to our coaching staff.

Abarientos holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Milligan University, where he also demonstrated his leadership and athletic skills as a defensive specialist and libero on the Milligan University volleyball team for four years. His time at Milligan not only sharpened his playing skills but also instilled in him a deep understanding of teamwork, perseverance, and strategic thinking.

Entering his third year of teaching senior math classes at EHS, Abarientos has already made significant strides in his coaching career. In the 2023 EHS volleyball season, he served as the freshman coach and an assistant to both the JV and varsity teams. Under his guidance, the freshman team had an outstanding season and captured the 2023 Three Rivers Conference Championship. His ability to inspire and develop young talent was evident, and his contributions were instrumental in the team’s success.
