Debra Darlene Lyons, 69, of Jonesborough, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Johnson City Medical Center. Debra was born in Carter County to the late Worley and Hazel Wilson Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Sells; two brothers, Mark Williams and Dewey Williams; and two sisters, Frances Oliver and Diana Sells.

Debra retired from Tulsa Dental as a packer and was a member of Blue Springs Christian Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to gospel music. Debra loved her children and her grandchildren greatly and loved to cook, work word search puzzles and was always willing to help anyone in need.

Those left to cherish and remember Debra include one son, Tommy Sells of Jonesborough; a son-in-law, Chris Davis, also of Jonesborough; eight grandchildren, Dylan Sells, Jasmine Sells, Dakota Sells, Patrick Sells Jr., Mason Sells, Carson Sells, Derek Sells and Madison Sells; one great-grandson, Colton Sells; her sister, Reva Williams of Elizabethton; her dog, General Lee. Several nieces, nephews. and a special great-niece, Addison Williams, also survive.

A service to celebrate Debra’s life will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 22, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Pastor John Reed officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service.

The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23, in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 1:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff in the ICU Unit of Johnson City Medical Center for their kindness and care shown to Debra and her family.
