Zion Baptist

Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, will host SCUBA Vacation Bible School beginning Sunday, June 23, and continuing through Thursday, June 27. Classes will be held from 6 to 8:45 p.m. each day.

Classes are available for nursery through high school age.

Fork Mountain

Joel Crisp will present special singing Sunday at 10 a.m. at Fork Mountain Free Will Baptist Church, Roan Mountain.

The pastor, the Rev .Charlie Trivette, invites the public to attend.

 

First Christian

First Christian Church Elizabethton will have worship at 9:45 a.m. Sunday. There is also Bible Study available Wednesday night at 6 p.m. for adults, youth, and children.

First Christian has a food pantry. Persons needing a food box are asked to call the church office at 542-5651 to make an appointment.

The church is located at 513 Hattie Ave.

Michael Klaus is minister.

 

Borderview Christian

Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, Elizabethton, will host a God and Country Day Celebration on Sunday, June 30. The morning worship service at 10:45 a.m. will feature “The Spirit of America,” a patriotic musical by the adult choir ministry.  

Veterans have a special invitation and will be recognized during the worship service and provided with a gift.   

The day continues at 5 p.m. with a Community Block Party with inflatables for all the kids. A free BBQ or fried chicken meal with sides will be served at 6 p.m., followed by Josh Sweeney’s Top Shelf Italian Ice for dessert.  

The evening climaxes with a gospel concert by LIFTED under the big tent. Loretta Bowers, Tony Rominger, Fred Goodwin, Patrick Kelly, and Howard Bloom will provide several genres of great music.   

At dusk, there will be fireworks. Everyone is invited to attend all activities throughout the day, which is Borderview’s gift to the community.   

Scott Fisher is the senior minister and Kathy Thomason is the children/youth director.

 

Sunset Free Will

Forgiven will present a bluegrass gospel concert Sunday at the 10 a.m. worship service at Sunset Free Will Baptist Church.

Forgiven is a bluegrass gospel band whose goal is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through song.

The church is located at Highway 19E, Roan Mountain.

 

Roan Street Free Will

Jonathan Sams will preach Sunday at the 11 a.m. service at Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church.

The Lyons Family will sing at the 6 p.m. service.

The Rev. Donnie Harris, pastor, invites the public to attend.
