Nyoka Jane Glover Woods, 78, Johnson City, passed away peacefully at Hillview Health and Rehabilitation Center of Elizabethton, Tenn., on Thursday, June 13, 2024. She was born April 9, 1946 in Elizabethton, Tenn., to William and Rosa Glover. She was the second of three children. The family is eternally grateful to the meticulous care she was shown by the entire staff at Hillview.

Nyoka was a graduate of Elizabethton High School, Class of 1965. She enjoyed many cruises with her friends and family. She also loved cross stitching various items as heartfelt gifts to her loved ones. As her health declined, she became even closer to her Heavenly Father and read her Bible often. She attended the Church of God of Prophecy. Although Nyoka didn’t have children of her own, she bestowed much love on her nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nyoka is survived by her brother, Raymond “Bud” Glover and wife Pat; three nephews, Randy Kyte and Keith Kyte and wife Penny, all of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Brian Glover and wife Kinli of Johnson City, Tenn.; one niece, Lisa Glover Monforte and husband Michael of Tampa, Fla.; three great-nieces, Hayley Moss, Kali Glover and Kami Glover, all of Tennessee; a great-nephew, Mason Moss of South Carolina; a great-nephew, Jonah Dale Moss of Johnson City, Tenn.; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Woods; her parents, William “Bill” and Rosa Hurley Glover; sister, Jerline Glover Kyte; and nephew, David Kyte.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) with Mr. Lester Bennett officiating. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Friday, will be Brian Glover, Paul Glover, Steve Glover, Greg Hurley, Richard Dugger, Jay Walker and Ron Arp. Honorary pallbearers will be Shelton Canter, Randy Kyte, Richard Gray and Mason Moss. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Friday. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home from noon until 5 p.m. Thursday. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website, www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
