Carter County Sheriff’s Office reports recent arrests

The following arrests have been reported by the Carter County Sheriff’s Office:

On June 8, Deputy D. McCloud observed a black Chevrolet traveling northbound on Hwy. 19E. The driver, identified as Crystal Marie Arnold, was found to have an active violation of probation warrant. Arnold was taken into custody and transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.

On June 9, Lt. Johnathan Blevins met with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office on Telford Road in Jonesborough to serve a warrant on Jessica Dawn Forbes for failure to appear. Forbes was taken into custody and transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.

On June 9, Lt. Johnathan Blevins met with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at Sinking Creek Baptist Church to serve a warrant on Michael J. Jones for violation of probation with a $25,000 bond. Jones was taken into custody and transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.

On June 9, Deputies D. McCloud and C. Locklear executed a warrant service on Hwy. 321, arresting Michael R. Charlton for violation of probation. Charlton was taken into custody and transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.

On June 9, Deputy Matthew Lyle responded to Shalom Drive regarding a dispute between a subject and Landon Wayne Garland. After instructing Garland to leave and later finding him on Shalom Drive, he was arrested for domestic assault and harassment and transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.

On June 10, Sgt. Justin Johnson responded to a theft complaint on Broad Street. Christopher Lynn Denny was arrested on an active warrant for violation of probation after being found hiding in an air duct. Denny was transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

On June 12, Deputies Cory Locklear, H. Taylor, and D. McCloud executed a warrant service on Pine Ridge Circle. Pennie and Benjamin S. Waters were both arrested on warrants for contempt of court. They were transported to the Carter County Detention Center and held without bond.

On June 13, Deputies Thomas Hill and Justin Johnson responded to Whispering Pines Road for a domestic assault. A subject reported being assaulted by Christopher L. Collins. Collins, found at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, was arrested for domestic assault (third offense or more) and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

On June 13, Deputy Jeff Winters took custody of Jamie K. Banner from the Unicoi County Jail on warrants for failure to appear and violation of probation. Banner was transported to the Carter County Detention Center with bonds totaling $50,000.

On June 13, Deputy Cory Locklear responded to a crash on Dry Creek Road. The driver, Shayla L. Keefer, was arrested for driving under the influence (first offense) and violation of implied consent law after failing a field sobriety test and refusing a blood test. Keefer was transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

On June 13, Deputy Jeff Winters arrested Ricky McClain on Sneed Hill Road for domestic assault after reports of him grabbing a subject by the hair and shoving her. McClain was transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.
