Former night janitor at CC Bank returns to Bank of Tennessee as Executive VP

Will Barrett, President and CEO of Bank of Tennessee and its divisions, confirmed a significant addition to the bank’s leadership team. Jeff Jones, widely acclaimed for his business acumen in the Northeast Tennessee region, has been appointed Executive Vice President. 

Jones, renowned for his leadership qualities, customer service expertise, and operational excellence, brings nearly four decades of invaluable experience to the table. His impressive career trajectory includes a defining tenure at Citigroup, where he was responsible for a team of over 3,000 employees and managed partnerships with over 30 retail entities, collectively serving a customer base exceeding 90 million.

A testament to his roots and unwavering work ethic, Jones’s journey in the banking sector commenced at Carter County Bank, a division of Bank of Tennessee. Initially taking on the role of a night janitor at the bank’s main Elk Avenue office, his meticulous attention to detail and dedication did not go unnoticed. Bill Greene acknowledged Jones’s potential and facilitated his transition into a teller position. This move saw Jones agreeing to continue his janitorial duties post-shift, symbolizing his commitment and humility.

Welcoming him aboard, Will Barrett remarked, “Jeff is a pillar in our community, and we are thrilled he’s joining our team.
